At present, the barrier to the large-scale application of wind and solar generation is their economic performances. In addition to improving the structure of wind turbine system and the efficiency of solar cells, It is one of most effective schemes to combine photovoltaic power system with wind power system to form a solar- wind hybrid power system (WSDBHPS ) in the districts where solar energy and wind energy may complement each other to improve the economic performance of wind or solar energy power system.The paper is meant to do research on stand-alone wind-solar-diesel-battery hybrid generation and intelligent control, including simulation modeling, optimum design of the system, the implement of corresponding software, the development of the system experiment set used in Lab and its intelligent control strategies and system controller and so on. The more details about author's work are as follows:1) The mathematical models of solar array wind turbine, diesel, battery, converter and inverter are presented based on quasi-steady state theory. By using the models, the power flow may be determined corresponding to solar radiation and wind velocity data so that the long-term performances of WSDBHPS can be predicted.2) The optimal design model of WSDBHPS is presented. It includes the system control strategies. By the model, the optimal configure of WSDBHPS can be obtained automatically in terms of solar and wind data at the site and user's requirements so that the economic performance of WSDBHPS may be improved meanwhile the technique requirements can be guaranteed.3) Based on the research on Battery discharging strategy, diesel strategy and battery &diesel strategy , strategies of dispatching system energy are presented, such as load follow strategy, frugality strategy and rated power-minimum operation time strategy. Several strategies of dispatching system energy are studied. The result shows that despite of simplicity those strategies above work very well in practice.4) Based on the work above and by using the object-oriented programming technology, the software for system simulation and intelligent control is developed.5) The experiment set of WSDBHPS used in lab is developed.6) Under matlab/simulink environment ,the dynamic model of solar array, variable speed wind turbine and WSBHPS is also developed.
