Gymnasium belongs to large public building, which scale is large and the demands of functions is high, so only the detail pre-design is carried out, can the rationality and the safe reliability and the economy of gymnasium structure be guaranteed. Structural conceptual design is a step of design in which important problems are made decisions by using human ideation and judgement and makes buildings with need of functions and sufficient hazardous resistance. Structural conceptual design is different from the traditional digital design and engineers consider the rationality of building structures in whole. It is available to study the structural conceptual design method in engineering, the theory of unascertainty, elastic mechanics and the neural network and some other relative theories are involved in this dissertation in doing the structural conceptual design of gymnasium. The main research work of dissertation can be concluded as follows: 1. Study on the method of conceptual design. Based on the summarizing work of conceptual design methods and the character of gymnasium, this paper puts forward originally the main steps of structural conceptual design of gymnasium, which is structural scheme evaluating, structural selection, structure predigesting formulae, concept and experience summarization of structure, structural formation. 2. Study on the evaluating method of structural scheme of gymnasium based on unascertained measure. The evaluation of structural scheme of gymnasium is an important step of structural conceptual design in which schemes are evaluated in reason and puts a supporting on the acceptability of final design or the decision of re-design. This paper puts forth the evaluating models which are adapted to evaluate scheme or evaluate scheme affected by multi-factors by using unascertained measure. The factor space, the relation of single factor measure and multi-factor measure, the setup of weight and the class identification of multi-factor unascertained measure are studied in gymnasium evaluation. Examples are given to validate the models at the last of the paper. 3. Study on the selection of spatial truss roof. After analyzing the types of space truss in common use in gymnasium, make sure the factors in selection of spatial truss and do further research of applicability and economy in this paper. On the base, this paper educes the predigesting formulae of displacement, stress and dynamic properties of Othogonal and Otholaid Space Truss, Sketch Map of Othogonal and Oblique Truss and Triangulated Grid Truss in plane shapes of rectangle, circle, triangle and hexagon. The formulae have clear concept in mechanics, simplified form and can meet the need of conceptual design stage. 4. Study on the assistant conceptual design of gymnasium based on the neural network.
