To protect the environment as well as reduce energy consumption is essential to realize eco-efficiency for large-scale hotels. At present, many large-scale hotels have problems, such as excessive building energy consumption, outside noise exceeding standard level and poor indoor air quality caused by indoor exhaust air (EA) mixing into outdoor air (OA) inlet, etc. These problems are very serious and need to be resolved urgently. For creating eco-efficient hotel, this paper proposed a new strategy which contains both the standard scale of reasonable energy consumption and improving & protecting environment furthest within the above scale. The relationship between the two aspects was the essential of this paper. To analyze and solve the practical problems of building energy consumption, air conditioner system energy consumption and the relationship between indoor air quality and outside noise environment in Dalian Shangrila hotel (which is one representative star hotel), the following researches were carried out in this paper. EA in the side of main air port mixing into OA inlet and outside noise overrunning standard were measured by modern equipment and discussed; according to the building use level and hotel turnover level, one new evaluation method and quantifying scale on the reasonability of building & air conditioner system energy consumption were put forward by energy parity method; then the commitments on maximum design value for whole ventilation volume in hotel buildings were theoretically analyzed; at last, the strategy for improving & protecting environment furthest within the scale of reasonable energy consumption was quantitatively proposed and applied in the kitchen area: the ventilating frequency was reduced to 30 times from 68 times per hour, the concentrationsof O2, CO, CO2 all complied with standard. This study tried to realize the eco-efficiencyobjective for both environment protection and energy consumption saving.The main studying contents are as follows:1. The air quality of OA inlet in the side of main air port was measured according to timeschedule in three large scale multipurpose hotel buildings, where the mixing proportion of EAto OA inlet was reached to about 17.5%; the outside noise in the side of main air port was10dBA higher than the standard in the outside noise survey; and in the survey of buildingenergy and air conditioner system energy consumption, half of eight surveyed objects were discovered not to comply with their corresponding building use level and hotel turnover level. The measured result showed that the conventional design theory has defects.2. In order to overcome the defectives in conventional design theory, (1) the theoretical calculation formula of EA volume in the side of main air port was conducted by the continuous point-resource diffusion theory. This formula reflected the influencing factors of the EA mixing into OA and the commitment of the maximum ventilating volume which ensured the OA inlet air quality in the side of main air port; (2) and the theoretical calculation formula of the air port quantity in the side of main air port (which could be conversed to the whole air volume in the side of main air port) conditioned by the noise was conducted by the noise synthetic theory, which reflected the influenced factors of noise in the side of main air port and the commitment of the maximum ventilating volume which ensured the noise in the side of main air port under the standard. Both of these two formulas were validated by tests.3. In order to overcome the disaccord between the hotel building & air conditioner energy consumption and the building using level & turnover level, one new evaluation index on building and air conditioner energy consumption that reflected the building use level and turnover level was put forward by using energy parity theory. The standard scale of reasonable hotel building & air conditioner energy consumption under the financial cost control requirement was conducted by the statistic data. Then the maximum operating ventilating volume for the whole building air conditioner system whose energy consumption was under the reasonable energy consumption limit level was determined.4. According to the above three commitments, the corresponding maximum ventilating volume were calculated by the individual commitments in the whole building, which were all no higher than the calculated whole building ventilating volume by the conventional design theory. The difference of the whole ventilating volume was just the cause of these problems. When the difference of the whole ventilating volume was no higher than 0, these above problems would be resolved, which was the theoretical accordance of the new strategy for improving the indoor air quality. According to this theory, one new strategy for improving the indoor air quality under these commitments of whole building ventilation was put forward. (1.
