Because of the petroleum shortage and environment pollution, people have been making great effort to seek for the alternative fuel, and to reduce emission pollution. The Air-power engine, which made Liquid Nitrogen and Compressed-air as its working medium, could solve the problem mentioned above. But Air-power engine also had some disadvantages, such as low power density, short distance of continuous driving, short in basic theoretical research and the restricted energy absorptivity from surrounding.Although the internal combustion engine (ICE) had higher thermal efficiency, the loss of heat was serious. Only 30 per cent fuel combustion value could transform to the output power. Due to the petroleum shortage, how to utilize the loss of heat now was becoming one of the research hot spots.The new power machinery, hybrid of Air-power/fuel which combines the ICE and Air-power engine, could improve Air-power engine performance by using ICE's loss of heat. Therefore it was the energy conservation engine.This paper stated the new energy conservation power machinery. The scenarios of hybrid have been analyzed. And the model of working process has been established. The more as follows:First, an integrated working process model of the Air-power engine was built up to Simulate the effect of air parameter and engine construction on engine performance. The important conclusion includes: 1. The best energy using efficiency of high-pressure gas was on the basis of the low inlet pressure and the inlet valve closed when piston was on 1/4 form TDC to BDC. 2. It was good for increasing engine output power that increases inlet pressure and inlet valve duration angle. 3. The best way of increasing power and saving compressed air energy was to increase the temperature of inlet air. 4. The different timing of pressure wave in exhaust pipe was decreased, when the exhaust back pressure was increased.Second, the Air-power engine test-bed has been established, and the engine performance had been tested in the detail. The results of experiment and simulation had good consistency, if the loss of mass during exhaust stroke were not considered. The constant speed characteristic and constant intake pressure...
