With the development of science and technology and the progress of society, railway and light railway system is now developing rapidly, and trains run faster and faster. However, higher speed of trains aggravates the coupled vibration of train-bridge system. This couple vibration further jeopardizes the safety of the train and influences the surrounding more and more. This new topic triggers a widespread research interest, and inspires more and more researchers to go further and further in this area.In this study, based on thorough review of the previous research in this area, an analytical model is developed to simulate the coupled vibration of train-bridge system and its influence to the surrounding. The topics such as mechanism of coupled vibration of train-bridge system, and constitutive relations were fully investigated. The following tasks were carried out:(1) A simplified excitation model for coupled vibration of train-bridge system. Based on the research on the mechanism of the excitation leading to the vibration of train-bridge system, it was found that the internal excitations factors inducing the vibration of train-bridge system are wheel hunting, track irregularities, and that the external excitations are the moving self weight of the train, its centrifugal force on curved bridges, seismic load, and wind load (wind load can be ignored for rigid railway reinforced concrete bridge).(2) An analytical model for coupled vibration of train-bridge system, based on some simplification on the vehicles and the bridge. In this model, a special model consisting of 27 degrees of freedom is used to simulate the train, and 3-D frame elements are used to simulate the bridge. Based on the deformation compatibility between vehicles and the bridge, equations of motion for this train-bridge system were derived, and solved by using a Step-By-Step integral method. Accordingly, a set of Matlab programs were developed. It was found that track irregularities influences the translation displacement and acceleration in the transverse direction and rotational displacement and acceleration in the longitudinal direction greatly, whereas, it causes relatively small influence on vertical displacement and acceleration.(3) The effects to train-bridge system caused by soil-structure interaction (SSI). In this study, each grouped-piles foundation is simplified as one grade girder using a...
