Novel health monitoring strategies for highway bridges and transportation infrastructure are of primary significance. A main objective of health monitoring is to detect, locate, and assess the level of structural damage to the civil infrastructure. In this regard, an integrated structural health monitoring framework is being developed to incorporate all tasks from sensor configuration, data acquisition and control, to decision-making and resources allocation. So far, the development history of the bridge structural health monitoring system has carried out research for them. However, it makes the original data reliability badly that the structural complexity of bridge and the complexity of bridge structural health monitoring system, causes the data distortion, results in error diagnosis, so the original data reliability has become bottle-neck to restrict the technology development of the bridge structural health monitoring. Because of the tremendous difference in the professional background, the researcher have to just make the study on the information acquirement and safety assessment in the health monitoring of bridge in each of their own major area, the problem of data reliability becomes the key point between them, and also challenge of bridge structural health monitoring technology. In this dissertation, combining with the National Hi-Tech Research and. Development Program (863) of China(No.2006AA04Z433), and the National Key Technology and R&D program(2002BA105C), the idea and concept of error control of the data communication field based on analyses carefully the data distortion expressionism is introduced, discussing the scientific and engineer significance, and the researching routine is proposed.The main content is stated in detail as following:â‘ Taking the cable-stayed bridge as an example, the structural main effect of the bridge are researched and analysis deeply, then creating the data generative function of bridge structure, then analyzing the characteristic of the single invalid data and the continuous invalid data for the bridge structural health monitoring system, and formalizes and describes them, discussing the complexity of data distortion, establishing the solid foundation for research of error control of safety assessment for the bridge structural health monitoring system;â‘¡According to the actuality of data distortion in field of bridge structural health monitoring system, which had dealt with solely on the information acquirement and the safety assessment, introducing the idea and concept of error control in the data communication field, analyzing its meaning and mechanism, then establishing the basal theory of error control for bridge structural health monitoring system, including checking mode, correcting model, and mechanism, that may resolve the problem of data reliability for bridge structural health monitoring system thoroughly, and these researches has not been reported at all times;â‘¢Analyzing the correlation among the bridge checking points according to the bridge structural data, defining the correlation of bridge checking points and describes its several forms, then integrating the correlative theory of data mining and signal system to establish the correlation model to describe the correlation among the bridge checking points quantificationally, and putting forward the error control methods on safety assessment of the bridge structural health monitoring system: (A) based on relation steady equation and data variety rate to identify the identify the single invalid data, and based on correlation model to identify the continuous invalid data;(B) based on the RBF neural networks and trendline method to restore invalid data.Finally, the error control software for the proposed method is developed and applied in the structural safety assessment in Masangxi Yangtze River bridge in Chongqing as a real example. Meanwhile, the software has also applied to Chongqing Gaojiahuayuan bridge, Chongqing Xiangjiapo bridge, Chongqing Shibanpo bridge, and it obtains better application effect in engineer practice.
