Photocatalytic material and ion material have wider application in environmentalist field,but their catalytic effects are not significant.In order to improve their effects the paper prepared photon-ion synergy catalytic materials (listed synergy catalytic materials) with activation on air and on fuel.which was new functional material with photocatalyst function,ion catalyst function and radiation catalyst function. Synergy catalytic materials had better effects in rare earth waste using, fuel-saving and exhaust reduction,had wider application prospects.Synergy catalytic powder was composited by rare earth element doped with nano-TiO2 with photocatalyst function and with tourmaline powder with ion catalyst function.It could produce free radical and anion. Synergy catalytic powder and rare earth waste including Th with radiation function composited into synergy catalytic material.Because synergy catalytic material added rare earth waste and many kinds of different valence metal ion,with the radiation energy, there was a long-term circular process among electronic, free radicals and elements. The circular efficiency and the number of negative ions depend on the redox process of metal ions, comparatively speaking, the redox reaction involving rare earth ions take place more easily.Synergy catalytic material not only solves the photocatalyst's problems of low quantum yield and low solar energy conversion efficiencies, but also is owned of photocatalyst function which includes photocatalyst of infrared light,visible light,ultroviolet light,and radiation catalyst produced by all kinds of ray and ioncatalyst function,also achieves activation on air and on fuel functions.Plate synergy catalytic materials for activation on air and pellet synergy catalytic materials for activation fuel were prepared for applied test for fuel-saving and exhaust reduction. The technology of synergy catalytic materials activation on air and on fuel was applied to engine. By the test of small diesel and major locomotive,the rate of fuel-saving was lowered, and exhaust reduced rapidly,which confirmed synergy catalytic materials could activate on fuel and achieve the goal of fuel -saving and exhaust reduction.Th of synergy catalytic materials decaysγ,and producesγray,which causes photoionization and chemistry change.When phton goes through elements and atomic of matter there are electrnic,ion and activated elements.In matter there is such reaction as bond broken and ion separation which produce free radical.In such improving fuel quality,after diesel oil was activated by synergy material, by the ESR analysis , molecules of activated diesel oil were transformed into activated molecules which could help mixed gas combust completely,and could reduce NOX,CO. Under the radiation catalysis of rare-earth materials, molecules of diesel oil could be transformed into activated molecules, the collision frequency increased among molecules, and temperature raised a little higher than usual. When temperature was higher, the interaction force between molecules was lessened, distance between molecules was shortened. The volume was increased and the density was decreased. So the temperature of activated diesel rose, the density lowered , the kinematic viscosity reduced ,hexadecane index increased and surface tension lowered. All the changes of diesel oil benefits to combustion efficiency and reducing exhaust.Above all,synergy catalytic materials can activate diesel oil,improve some property of it,so we can achieve the goal of oil-saving and exhaust reduction.
