The concept of high-performance concrete (HPC) was first put forward in 1990s and the history of HPC is only several years. Because HPC has good volume stability, good durability, high strength and superior workability. It becomes a main aim of concrete in the future and has large scope of application in engineering. Comparing with ordinary concrete, HPC has much more component parts and it has much more influencing factor, the requirements of performance are also more than ordinary concrete. So traditional semi-experimental methods do not fully meet requirements of today's concrete engineering, and have encountered difficulties in production of HPC and special property concrete. A new design method and the research on application and construction technique are needed.In this thesis, on basis of the construction of Xin-Jiangwan skatepark project, the high compact setting-time-adjustable concrete needs to be proved. This concrete is a kind of HPC. Based on the survey of this high compact setting-time-adjustable concrete, a new method of concrete mix design named multi-target combined design method based on the performance research is provided. The experience proves that it is a new concrete mix design method which is suitable for the engineering. In addition, the choice of raw material, determination of some mix parameters, and procedure of mix design are discussed. Because the structure of Xin-Jiangwan skatepark project is a special multi-curved shell slab structure, the construction technique and application study are also written in this thesis.This new design method can be used not only in the production of this high compact setting-time-adjustable concrete but also in the production other kinds of HPC. This construction technique is suitable for the skatepark and also can be used in construction of other special concrete structures which has complex shape, city sculpture and long distance tunnel.In the finality, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
