The Evening-night Time City

Today, evening-night time life is gradually common in human's life, which has exerted a subtle influence on the function space and landscape space of the city. Then a new type of city space has formed, which is different from daytime. Viewing of this important phenomenon, the article suggests a new conception: the evening-night time city. Basing on human's behavior in evening and night time, analyzing their active sites and actualities, referring of thoughts and productions of urban space theory, behavior psychology, economy and culture, landscape and aesthetics, this article aims to reveal the characteristic and inter-influence of function space and landscape space of the evening-night time city.In information society, the free-working-hour promotes the daytime work and life lasting to later night. On other hand, the nightlife is lie fallow, which fuse the culture communicating, entertainment and tour together. All of those accelerate diversification of nightlife. In our country, the frequency of out at night is increasing, and the time of staying outter is longer. The young and middle age people are the mainly going out at night, which not care about the site distance but the individual consume demand. Those activities have brought new requests about fundamental construction of city, such as security, traffic and direction-system.There are some characters just like dot congregate, leaping growth and succession recycle in all kinds of typical night-time activity sites, which lead night life space to form the"hiberarchy–network"structure. The preferred place of night life is commercial-net center, transport hub, natural landscape and literate-human landscape, near residential area and universities which have fixed consumers.Considering the distribution characters of night-time functional space, this article proposes that the city lightscape master plan and its aesthetic enjoy should take the night-time active place and transition place as the main part, and refering to the city collectivity plan and daytime landscape. Thus the evening & night time landscape is close related to the active space.The evening & night time city is according with the city's sustainability idea, which's negative influence mainly concentrates in noise and light pollution. In the end, this article suggests some optimizing methods to constructting nighttime activity place according to the human's behavior characteristic and the environment effection.
