A Study On Introduction And Guidance Of Natural Process In Modern Landscape Architecture

In landscape architecture,there are millions of visible and invisible natural processes,which incessantly influence the form and development of landscape architecture.However,human beings always try to bring absolute control in natural processes.Even though natural process such as wind, water and plants play important roles in landscape architecture,the misbehaviors of human beings bring on abnormality,constraint,even devastation of natural processes in landscape architecture.Landscape architecture can carry more natural processes.If we accept that landscape architecture is part of nature,not only the natural process of site gain respect,but also more comprehensive power of nature would be imported and guided.The purpose of this paper is to guide natural process back to landscape architecture,and bring it into high efficiency.The paper systematically introduces the appearance and development of introduction and guidance of natural process in landscape architecture.First,the author explores the introduction of natural process based on the relationship between landscape architecture and natural process, including its definition,feature and value.Later through introducing cases of natural process's introduction and guidance the author excavates the history of guidance of natural course in the spectrum of design.This paper analyzes the background of introduction and guidance of natural course in modern landscape architecture:extension of landscape architecture brings larger scales of natural environment into research scope;environmental crises and post-industrial landscaping force landscape design to face more complicated natural process;development of ecological design provides introduction and guidance of natural course scientific methods;modern arts especially land arts emphasize the value and esthetics of natural process,the artistic way of expressing natural processes offers modern landscape architects important inspiration.The paper also concludes the principles and methods of introduction and guidance of natural process in landscape architecture.In terms of the prime mover of natural process,the author categorizes it into hydraulic process,wind process,fire and electricity,gravity process,biological process and other processes.Integrated with a number of case studies,the author quotes and demonstrates this categorization.In landscape architecture,introduction and guidance of natural process is a practical theme,in which theory should follow respective practice.Therefore,the author uses two projects which he participated in during his study for his doctoral degree,to give an in-depth analysis on the methodology of introduction and guidance of natural course.
