As accelerated urbanization, the gas supply of small town was paid more attention. Biomass energy as distributing widely, renewable and environment friendly energy, biomass gas has bright future with the increasingly tense situation of fossil energy. The article studied different biomass, pyrolysis, steam gasification and catalytic gasification were studied in the reactor which fixed on a bed, and the characteristics of the biomass gasification were discussed. An externally heated catalytic pyrolysis furnace using biomass micron fuel (BMF) was built, and its application in engineering values was explored. The biomass gas supply system was studied intensively, which could be provided scenically gist for biomass gas supply system of small town. The main contents of this article as follows:(1) Catalytic and steam gasification of municipal solid waste (MSW) and sawdust were carried out a small-scale fixed bed reactor in order to evaluate the trend and effect factors of biomass gasification, the results showed that when material was MSW, the dry gas yield can be up to 1.97 Nm3/kg, MSW and the tar in the product can be completely eliminated. The concentration of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methane in the fuel gas produced was 50.8%,9.32% and 13.3%, the gas heat value can reach about 24.4 MJ/m3. When material was sawdust, the dry gas yield can be up to 1.80 Nm3/kg sawdust and the tar content in the product can be 2.9% lowest. The concentration of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methane in the fuel gas produced was 49.6%,10.4% and 12.2%, the gas heat value can reach about 20.2 MJ/m3.(2) A town's demonstration project of biomass gasification with catalytic gasification technology was established for studying the feasibility of high heating value fuel gas produced by biomass micron fuel heating the gasification furnace. The results showed that the temperature of combustion chamber, gasification chamber and catalyst chamber reached 1100℃,800~900℃, respectively. The gasification efficiency in the system could reach 80% and the component, heating value and the content of tar suffice for the requirement of fuel gas.(3) Based on the previous pipeline mathematical model, an analysis mathematical model with calculate efficiency, applicability, calculate stability and low initial valve was studied by the methods of graph theory and mathematical analysis. The results showed that Newton node analysis method model and Newton pipeline equation method model were more suitable because of less data, node-pipeline matrix, low initial value, stability calculate, perfect astringency. The pipeline analyze software developed from this model would be employed to provide technical support for decision, operate schedule and rebuild of town gas pipeline.(4) Different pattern of town gas supply system was analyses and discussed, and the press working condition of town scale from 1 thousand to 10 thousand, different pipeline structure were researched to confirm pipeline press class and supply mode of different town. Research showed that the small town which below 3 thousand can be used to low pressure system, while big town can be used to biomass gas with liquid petrol gas or natural gas together.(5) The interconvert between biomass gas and conventional gas such as cove gas or natural gas was discussed, and the adaptability of combustion equipment was discussed too. Research showed that the three gases can't be interconvert, when biomass gas supplied for town gas, the combustion equipment should be decided specially. If we renovate other combustion equipments, not only the muzzle was needed to be replaced, but also the fire hole was needed to be adjusted too, and those should be validated by experiments. This research will provide a scientific and theoretical foundation when biomass gas was developed and promoted as a town gas source and supply system.
