Research On Design Of Farm Tools In Ming Dynasty

This dissertation analyzes the condition of agriculture in Ming Dynasty. Those are related tothe development of farm tools, such as agricultural economy, agricultural system, agriculturaltechnology, agricultural and cultural ideas and so on. That analysis provides backgroundinformation for the study of farm tools design in Ming Dynasty, and is good for knowing theunique characteristics of farm tools. Through the two respects to research the relationship betweenthe design of farm tools and every aspect of agricultural production, first aspect is the design offarm tools and agricultural producing, the second is the design of farm tools and handicraftindustry. Firstly，the design of farm tools and agricultural producing, according to the crops(mainly refers to food crops) farming has links to order, select the typical tools in each link dopoint analysis, research on the five agricultural producing process, such as land reclamation,planting seeds, cultivating, harvesting, processing, has different needs, different farming needs toproduce different creative design of farm tools, creative tools improve the state of agriculturalproduction. Secondly，the design of farm tools and handicraft industry, according to the differentindustries, select the representative tools to research, study the impact from agriculture and toolsto various industries, such as weaving industry, firing industry, painted industry, wood industry,leather industry and animal husbandry, papermaking industry. The developed agriculture andadvanced tools in Ming Dynasty, affect all hand industrial materials, process, configuration andother design condition or method. The design of farm tool conception of the agricultural economy,have creative, practical, patient and inclusive design features, reflected the prominent features intraditional design，such as the use of aspects differ from man to man, the suit one’s measures tolocal conditions, cost aspects make do with whatever is available, reasonable aspects in the lightof its general trend.
