Up to now seven families, 37 genuses, 76 species of grasshopper Acridoidea have been found in Shanxi Province, among which there are 15 dominant species of grasshoppers. This article picked up the following ten dominant species to observe and study: Haplotropis brunneriana Sauss, Atractomorpha sinensis I. Bol., Oxya chinensis (Thunb.), Locusta migratoria manilensis ( Mey. ) , Angaracris rhodopa ( F.-W. ) , Epacromius coerulipes (Ivan. ) , Epacromius infernalis Saussure , Sphingonotus mongolicus Saussure, Omocestus haemorrhoidalis (Charp.) and Acrida cinerea Thunb. These ten species are not only the dominant pests threatening Shanxi agriculture , but they represent different taxonomical status of the grasshoppers in Shanxi. Haplotropis brunneriana Sauss is the lowest species, followed by Atractomorpha sinensis I. Bol., Oxya chinensis (Thunb.), Locusta migratoria manilensis (Mey.) , Angaracris rhodopa ( F.-W. ) , Epacromius coerulipes ( Ivan. ) , Epacromius infernalis Saussure, Sphingonotus mongolicus Saussure, Omocestus haemorrhoidalis ( Charp.) and Acrida cinerea Thunb. The study of grasshopper alimentary canal is the most classical work in the study of entomology. Before 1960s the basic structure of grasshopper alimentary canal, its function and origin were made clear to the researchers, while the major studies then were limited to histology and cytology level, and the optical microscope was used for observation. Since 1960s modern, new technology and new methods have been gradually and widely used in the area of applied science research. But there have been few reports in regards of the grasshopper alimentary canal. Although there are a few reports about the study of grasshopper alimentary canal in the use of electron microscope, they were not systematic. This article, for the first time, brings up the study of grasshopper alimentary canal by the use of scanner, then apply the scanned results into the positioning study of the inner ultra-structure of grasshopper alimentary canal under scanning...
