We selected 40 morphological characters to observe and mensurate the seven geographic populations of I. Purpurea. The results showed that the different degree of diversities was existed among geographic populations. We employ UPGMA aggregation method to analyze those data, the results showed that seven geographic populations could be divided into 2 groups. The first group was consisted of populationâ… ,populationâ…¢,populationâ…£and populationâ…¤, which are comparatively similar on configuration, such as the peduncle of anthotaxy comparatively shorter, the leafstalk of each position comparatively shorter, and leafage and flowerage comparatively smaller. The second group was consisted of populationâ…¡, populationâ…¥, and populationâ…¦. Comparing with the first group, the peduncle of anthotaxy and leafstalk of each position were relatively longer. Three geographic populations of the second group were grown on the places where the sunlight and the fertility of soil were enough. Therefor, comparing with the geographic populations of first group, leafage and flowerage were relatively larger. In general, there was some correlation between the cluster results and the ecological factors of which I. Purpurea population local at.PPB, Nei and Shannon genetic diversity index were used to study the genetic diversity of seven geographic populations of I.Purpurea. Though the genetic baed on Nei index was lower than on Shannon index, both disclosed the same tendency of diversity in seven geographic populations, that is populationâ…¤>populationâ…¡>populationâ…£>populationâ…¥>populationâ…¢>populationâ…¦>populationâ… . The tendency of diversity varity revealed by PPB index was consistent with the results revealed by Nei and Shannon index. AMOVA showed that 28.55% of the genetic variance existed among populatuions, while within population included 71.45% of the genetic variance. It illuminated that heredity differentiation was remarkably exited among I.Purpurea geographic populations (P<0.001). Mean square among population was far bigger than within population, it also indicated that heredity differentiation was remarkably exited among geographic populations. Among the I. Purpurea geographic populations, the expectation value of the gene-flows was 1.3763, exceeding 1. The result indicated that although the differentiation was prominent among geographic populations, the genetic excursion which could cause population differentiation could be prevented by the intercommunion of the genes among geographic populations. The results also showed that there was a trend that Genetic dispersion became smaller while Gst became bigger in the evolvement procedure, affected by environment and artificial selection. It was a positive correlation betweem the value of mean similarity and altitude, height was higher, and selection press was higher, while genetic base was narrower.
