The primary aim of this experiment was to make clear the photosynthetic characteristics of solanaceous fruits including eggplant and sweet pepper. This experiment studies on the photosynthetic characteristics of eggplant and sweet pepper in open field, the photosynthetic characteristics of grafted eggplant, the effects of low temperature (10℃/5℃,day/night) and poor light(60μmol·m-2·s-1 and 120μmol·m-2·s-1) on photosynthetic physiological characteristics of own-rooted seedlings in eggplant, and the effects of different light density on the growth and development of sweet pepper . The main results showed that:1. Pn of hybrid in eggplant were higher significantly than ordinary varieties; Pn of functional leaves of grafted seedlings in eggplant were higher distinct than that of own-rooted seedlings; The PAD of middle and lower node leaves in eggplant were about 25~35d; Pn of local varieties of sweet pepper were higher significantly than introduced varieties.2. Photosynthetic responses of functional leaves of eggplant and sweet pepper to main environmental factors as photo flux density, CO2 concentration and temperature were"parabola". Light compensation and saturation points, CO2 compensation and saturation points, and the ranges of light and CO2 were gained.3. The daily change trend of Pn of leaves in eggplant and sweet pepper showed a double peak curve, and there was a significant"midday depression"at noon; the extent of"midday depression"of grafted seedlings were lighter than that of own-rooted seedlings; the reasons of"midday depression"were stomatal factors; overshadowing (27 percent light) can lighten the extent of"midday depression"of sweet pepper. When the light was less than 62 percent,"midday depression"in sweet pepper could not founded, but Pn of which decreased.4. Pn of leaves in resultant stage of eggplant and sweet pepper were higher significantly than that of seedling stage and florescence.; there were higher LSP, CSP, Amax, AQY, CE and A350 in middle node leaves, but their CCP and LCP were lower, which was the reason why that Pn of middle node leaves in eggplant were higher significantly than that of top and lower node leaves.5.
