Multidisciplinary optimization design was the foreland of the modern design development methodology and a new multidisciplinary intercross field developed in recent decade. It emphasized by using the newest accomplishment of computer science and technology, with the effective methodology of optimization design, realize the system idea in complex engineering design.The sugarcane harvester is a complex engineering system which consists of structure, machinery and control subject which exist respectively at the same time have all kinds of relationship with each other. The optimal design of sugarcane harvester is a large scale system and multidisciplinary optimization design having the relation with a few subjects such as structure, machinery and control subject. These sub-systems performed their optimal design respectively in their subject fields using their own knowledge, technique, methodology and tools. The main-system would combine and correspond with the sub-system's design from the whole system opinion.
