Characteristics Analysis Of Chinese Traditional Agricultural Technology Evolution

The study is to analyze the characteristics and its contributing factors of Chinese traditional agricultural technology and its evolution by historical investigation from the point of technical philosophy, so that we could find the influence of Chinese traditional agriculture to modern agriculture and its actual value.The study is involved 5 fields as below: One is to introduce the topic background, research targets, train of thought and major creative trails. Two is to investigate different developmental phases of Chinese agricultural technology from Qin Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, and reveal the whole process from its occurrence, development, maturity and the decline for the characteristics analysis of Chinese traditional agricultural technology. Three is to systematically understand agricultural technology and analyze the major subjective elements (knowledge, experiences and skills) and objective elements (farming tools etc.) of traditional agriculture, and also probe into the process and methods of the combination between subjective and objective elements. Four is to analyze the phased characteristics and its developing patterns of Chinese traditional agriculture based on technical evaluation as its autonomous growth, accumulated leaps and periodical rise and fall, and then to analyze the evolution causes of Chinese traditional agriculture by traditional philosophical concepts of theories as "Vitality", "Yin and Yang", "the Five elements" and "Golden Mean Doctrine" to the influence of agronomical principles, which is used to further reveal its promoting functions to traditional agricultural technology. Five is to discuss present values of Chinese traditional agricultural technology evolution based on the summary of its historical achievements; comparisons between Chinese and western agriculture from agricultural thoughts, technical system, and research methods; discussions on restrictive factors of the development of Chinese traditional agricultural technology. The present significance of reveal of traditional agricultural technology evolution is done by summary of its achievements and limitations.
