Obsjective: To investigate the difference of expression of Cx26 mRNA, Cx32 mRNA and Cx43 mRNA between HCC tissues and liver tissues. To probe the regularity and significance of expression of Cx26, Cx32 and Cx43 in HCC. Method: HCC tissues and liver tissues were collected from 28 cases of pathological proved hepatocellular carcinoma. RT-PCR methods were then adopted to detect the expression of Cx26 mRNA, Cx32 mRNA and Cx43 mRNA in all tissues. Result: Cx26 mRNA and Cx32 mRNA were found to expression in all the 28 liver tissues(positive rates: 100%), while only 3 HCC tissues showed expression of Cx26 mRNA (positive rates: 10.71%) and no HCC tissues showed expression of Cx32 mRNA(positive rates: 0%.). Cx43 mRNA was found to expression in 12 HCC tissues(positive rates: 42.86%), while expression of Cx43 mRNA was not found in all the 28 liver tissues (positive rates: 0%.). HCC tissues showed significantly low positive rates of CX26 and CX32 (p<0.05), but a higher positive rates of CX43(p<0.05). Conclusion: The expression of CX26 and CX32 were different between HCC tissues and liver tissures. HCC tissues showed a transcriptional down-regulation of CX26 and CX32 gene. But the transcriptional up-regulation of CX43 gene showed a special regularity of regulation of tissue specific CX genes in HCC tissues.
