Objective: To investigate the possible mechanism of high volume hemofiltration in preventing and treating multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. Methods: 27 pigs were divided randomly into three groups (group C, group M, group HF), major organs function were monitored, plasma concentrations of IL-1β and IL-4 were measured, GR α mRNA and I- κ B α mRNA of major organs were detected. Results: Earlier high volume hemofiltration could low the plasma concentrations of inflammatory cytokines, obviously improve the functions of major organs , reduce the MODS morbidity and mortality; improve the activation and expression of I- κ B α and GR α , regulate the gene expression of I- κ B α and GR α . Conclusion: Earlier HVHF could inhibit the activation of NF- κ B through increasing expression of GR and then increasing quantity of I- κ B, thus it can regulate the transcription and synthesis of cytokines such as IL-1β and IL-4, restrict inflammatory reaction of pathomorphology of major organs.
