| We observed systematically curative effect of preventing and treating diabetic nephropathy (DN) by Shenbaining Water Pill through clinical and experiment researches. We inquired into mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on DN and mechanism of Shenbaining Water Pill on preventing and treating DN.67 patients with incipient DN were randomly divided into treatment group of Shenbaining and contrast group of Luodingxin(benazepril).We observed two groups the index of urinary albumin, urinary albumin excretion rate(UAE), urinary β2-MG, fasting blood glucose(FBG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), creatinine clearance rate (Ccr), total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein(LDL), blood rheology and the change of clinical symptom. In the part of experiment, we used DN rat models induced by streptozotocin(STZ), and observed the change of urinary albumin, Ccr, FBG, HbA1c, TC, TG, LDL, kidney weigh and body weigh of experimental rats.
