[Objective]:1. To examine the difference of MIF expression in chronic hepatitis B, severe hepatitis, hepatitis-induced hepatocirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).2. To study the possible mechanism of MIF involving HBV-relatived diseases.3. To study the possible effect and relation of MIF and VEGF in invasion and metastasis of HCC.[Methods]:According to the inclusion criteria, 140 possible cases were divided into the following 7 groups: normal liver (20 cases); chronic hepatitis B(20 cases); severe hepatisis (20 cases); hepatitis-induced hepatocirrhosis (20 cases); hepatocellular carcinomar(20 cases); peripheral tissue of HCC (20 cases); distant tissue of HCC(20 cases). Using Immunohistochemistry and In situ hybridization technique to observe the different expressions of MIF albumenand MIF mMIF in tissue of diferrent liver diseases, and to detect the expression of VEGF in normal liver, hepatocellular carcinoma, peripheral tissue of HCC and distant tissue of HCC. According to Axiotis pathology evaluation standards, 0-1,2, 3~4 and 5-6 were regarded as negative , poor positive, positive, strongpositive, respectively. It is regarded as negative when the score was 2,and 2 regarded as positive. [Results]:Expression of MIF and MIF mRNA in different liver cellular plasm as shown in the following table: Table-1 Expression of MIF and MIF mRNA in HBV-infection-raleted liver diseases1. Compared with nomal cases, expression of MIF increased gradually in chronic hepatitis B, severe hepatisis, hepatitis-induced hepatocirrhosis, HCC, peripheral tissue of HCC and distant of HCC, which is of significant difference,/)<0.05.2. No significant difference of MIF expression was observed in HCC,peripheral tissue of HCC and distant tissue of HCC, P > 0.05.3. Compared with nomal cases, the expression of VEGF is intensely positive in HCC, peripheral tissue of HCC, distant tissue of HCC, the difference is significant, PO.001.[Conclusion]1. As a cellular factor, MEF may involve in the mechanism of immunity damnification of chronic hepatisis B and severe hepatisis.2. MIF may have a relation with the developing of hepatocirrhosis.3. MIF may involve the invasion and metastasis of HCC.
