Experimental Study On Electrophysiology Mechanism Of Vagus Nerve Stimulation For Epilepsy And The Developing Of New VNS System

Objective: To study and make a new kind of vagus nerve stimulation system, which has more economy, more effective, and more enduring, by exploring the electrophysiology mechanism of vagus nerve stimulation for epilepsy. So that we can offer a better service to the patiences.Methods: 1. To make a vagus nerve stimulation system which has the same function with the import. The material and technics measured up the national or international standard.2. To develope a epilepsy model by injecting KA 5-10μg into the cortex of right hemishere of the rabbit.3.To install the device into the rabbit, and detected the function of vagus nerve stimulation system.4.The epilepsy rabbits were grouped according to the rate of epilepsyform discharge and treated them with different parameter VNS.5.To improve the device in light of the results of the study.Results: 1.The pilot vagus never stimulation system was made successfully and passed the function detecting in laboratory. The device worked stably and could be used in animal experiment safely. The communicating distance between the generator and program wand was farther than 3cm. 2. After KA injected for 30 minutes, the rabbits showed clonic, tonic or tonic-clonic seizure for 5 seconds in every 5-10 minutes.2...
