Role Of Caspase-1 Associated Signaling Pathway In Pathogenesis Of Acute Lung Injury Induced By Acute Pancreatitis And Effect Of Chinese Medicine Qingyitang

Background and Objective Severe acute pancreatitis(SAP) is one of most severe acute abdomen in clinic and with a high mortality especially the patient with acute lung injury (ALI) .The study shows that the pathogenesis of ALI induced by SAP is related with inflammatory mediator and cytokines especially.interleukin-1β(IL-1β). It is commonly convinced that IL-1β is the critical role in the pathogenesis of ALI induced by SAP. Data shows that caspase-1—one kind of Caspase familial members is the important substance which make proIL-1β into active form. Casepase-1 is one of important substances in the signaling pathway. It is participated in processing of inflammatory reaction. Caspase-1 is also named interleukin-1β converting enzyme(ICE). It mainly active proIL-1β into active form IL-1β and participate in the processing of inflammatory reaction. IL-1β and TNF-α induce IL-6 and IL-8 secretion and lead to fever, circulation failure, shock and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing caspase recruitment domain(ASC) is the upstream substance before casepase-1 in the inflammatory signaling pathway. It can active procaspase-1 into active form caspase-1. It is not reported that ASC is related to the pathogenesis of ALI induced by SAP.The pathogenesis of ALI induced by SAP is not clear so that the effect of treatment is bad. We usually advocate individualized treatment plan in clinics. Although there are some reports about treatment of SAP with Chinese medicine Qingyitang, there are few reports about the pathogenesis of Qingyitang treating SAP.
