Abstract/Summary:
Background and Objective: Orthodontic tooth movement is achieved by modeling and remodeling processes of the alveolar bone, which are triggered by the stress/strain distribution in the periodontium. It is unclear how such mechanical stress/strain induces alveolar bone remodeling. As the osteoblast is highly responsive to mechanical stimuli, it plays the leading role in the bone (re)modeling processes. However, it is not definitively determined what responses involved in mechantransduction mechanism in the osteoblast. especially its initial responses . Therefore, in order to better understand the mechanotransdution process, we studied the cell proliferation and the mechanism after mechanical stimulation at a magnitude occurring in normal loaded bone tissue.Methods: Osteoblastic cells MG63 were subjected to mechanical strain by self-made four-point bending system(ZL01256849. X) at 0.5Hz frequency for 5min, 10min, 15min, 30min, 1h, 3h, 6h, 12h respectively. Strain ranged from 1000μstrain, 2000μstrain, 4000μstrain, to 8000μstrain.
