It can influence the proliferation of pituitary cells and the production of pituitary hormones. Estrogen is a kind of steriod hormone which can affect the function of pituitary as well. Estrogen acts through the classical estrogen receptor (ER) which may mediate cellular proliferation through a number of intracellular signal pathways. ER includes two subtypes: ER α and ER β . Our previous study had found that there were some interactions between IL-2 and estrogen. The main purpose of my study is to further testify the relationship between IL-2 and estrogen receptor in the anterior pituitary and determine its molecular mechanism.To achieve this goal, I fully examine the morphological relationship between ER α /ER β immunoreactive products and IL-2 or its receptors first first;then observe the interaction of IL-2 and estrogen on the proliferation of the anterior pituitary...
