The Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a circle and double-strand DNA virus belonging to the Hepadnaviridae family. The worldwide spread of HBV is one of several most serious threats of the world public health.The HBV vaccine has already applied in the global scope for many years and plays an important role in the control of HBV infection, but the chronic HBV infection was still an important public health problem. Despite the existence of effective prophylactic vaccines against hepatitis B virus for many years, HBV infection remains an serious health problem worldwide. Approximate 2 billion people have been infected by HBV and it is estimated that more than 350 million of them are persistent carriers of this virus. Currently, the two approved therapies for chronic hepatitis with a clear clinical beneficial effect are alpha-interferon and lamivudine. But their long-term effects are limited and disappointing.
