Finding Out The Effective Compounds Of Chinese Traditional Medicine According To The Variable Results Of Pharmacological Experiments

Although with solid clinical effect, it is hard to find out the effective compounds of Chinese traditional compound Medicine (CTCM), partly because of its complicated chemical components and the less research on mechanism.I have devised a new systemic method— orthogonal-unit system (OUS) to find out the active extract units in CTCM. Combining Natural Products Chemistry and Pharmacology, step by step, I extracted and separated chemical components of each herb individually and simultaneously, which is according to the variable results of pharmacological experiments. The features of this method are: multi-routes approach, orthogonal design, and multi-steps experiments.While applying OUS to the analysis of Yupingfen powder (YPFP), I extracted and separated chemical components of each herb in the way of 3- routes approach with referrence to the variable results of the Indian ink clearance function of reticulo-endothelial system in mice. This experiment reflects YPFP's representative pharmacological effect of enhancing immunity. After 3 steps of pilot study, I have found out the active extract units of YPFP.
