Several lines of clinical and epidemiologic evidence suggest that Guillain-Barre Sydrome (GBS) is a common disease in nervous systems domestically and abroad. It is a very important that we shall start reasearch in works of etiology, pathogenesis and therapy of GBS. Some neurologists in our Department have published some papers on works of clinical analysis, electrophyisological examination and pathological changes of GBS, so as to develop the level of diagnosis and therapy of it since 1976. Thus, studies on patients with GBS admisted in our Department from 1976 to 1989 should be necessary. Many authors suggest that pathogenesis of GBS is a autoimmuno disterbances in the body of the patient, induced by a factor, Based on research in GBS and experimental allergic neuritis (EAN). This hypothesis is all not from the results of the experiment in EAN. However, this work is just being started in China. Studies on EAN aminal model are most significant in therogy and practice for exploring further pathogneresis of GBS. Because sources of drugs...
