Ischemic brain stroke is one of the frequently occurred diseases of central nervous system. It often results in severe damages on nervous function, and severely threatens the health of human beings. How to cure this disease is one task which urgently needs to be resolved in the field of neurology. Reperfusion after cerebral ischemia frequently occurs during the process of brain stroke. Studies have showed that there are many complicated pathological changes induced by cerebral ischemia reperfusion. On one hand, cerebral ischemia reperfusion can rescue the cells which are close to death. On the other hand, it will aggravate the injury of the cells and results in cell death. So how to reduce the injury induced by cerebral ischemia reperfusion is one key question for the treatment of cerebral ischemic disease. Resveratrol is one kind of polyphenolic compound which has many biological effects. Recently, studies on the neuroprotection of resveratrol have become one focus in the field of neurology.
