This project is designed to systemically study the anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effect of the effective part of Verbena officinalis L. (EPVO) on human choriocarcinoma JAR cells. We established a JAR/VP16 cell line from parental JAR cell, in which the effect of EPVO on the reversal of drug-resistance of and its mechanism were studied. This project consists of the following 4 parts.1: Establishment of the quality controlling method of Verbena officinalis L. (VOL) and extraction and screening of the effective part on human choriocarcinoma from VOLThe concentration of oleanolic acid and ursolic acid in Verbena officinalis L. was measured using reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC).
