Role Of Immune Response In The Secondary Injury After Brain Trauma In Rats

1, BackgroundIn traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients, some factors such as tissue response, change of pathologic physiology, bleeding all can result in the secondary cerebral injury. The secondary cerebral injury manifest brain edema, brain swell and the second brain hematoma in the early stage; due to the apoptosis of neuron and myelinoclasis, the second cerebral injury can induce deformity in some extent such as impediment in the limb movement and language, dementia, schizophrenia, vegetal exist in the lately stage. All this bring heavy burden on the family and society. Thus in the area of neurosurgery more attention are paid on how to treat patient of brain trauma , how to decrease the second cerebral injury and how to reduce deformity of patient.At present, it's prevalent viewpoint that ischemic, anoxic, calcium overload, oxidative free radical, release of excited amino acid and many inflammatory factors after severe brain injury play an important role in the secondary cerebral injury. In addition, someone consider that immune response also contribute in the secondary cerebral injury after brain trauma. Although many these research are found on the level of cell, molecule and gene, but it has not been acquired a uniform conclusion. In clinical, corresponding measures are made to treat patient of the secondary cerebral injury, but the effect is unsatisfy. Moreover, most of study focus on relation between early symptom and grade of cerebral injury after brain trauma, and researcher seldom pay attention to how immune response play a role in cerebral injury arising, development and the second cerebral injury. 2, Objective and SignificanceOur work try to explore the pathogenesis and mechanism of the second cerebral injury after brain trauma from the point of immunology and find whether immune response play a role in the occuring and development of the second cerebral injury.
