As a traditional Chinese medicine, YSD had a long history to cure diabetes. There were many records of archaic recipes and curatorial laws. But now the clinical applications of YSD to cure diabetes were fewer, and the reports of related research were infrequent as well. There were two reasons. Firstly dosage forms of YSD were mainly pills or powders in archaic recipes, while the modernistic clinical applications and preparations are mostly medicinal broths or decoctions.
