Esophageal carcinoma is one of the most common malignant diseases in China. In order to make clear the pathophysiology of the esophageal motor dysfunction of the disease, a comparing study was performed with esophageal manometry and pH monitoring in 90 patients with esophageal carcinoma (EC) including 17 cases of cardia carcinoma (CC) and 56 healthy adult volunteers.The esophageal motor dysfunction of the patients with EC and CC proved by manometry and pH monitoring was as following:A. The basic esophageal body pressure(EBP),lover esophageal sphincter pressure(LESP) and gastric fun-die pressure(GFP)were lower in resting state. particularly during swallowing and Valsalva test, than the mormal subjects.It was belived to be associated...
