Objective:To observe the effect of Tangshukang on the bone metabolism and VDR,TGF-β1,CaBp-D9K mRNA expression in the diabetic osteoporosis rats. Methods: 40 rats were randomly divided into the normal group, model group, western medicine control group and Tangshukang group.Rats in the model group underwent a STZ procedure. Model group and the normal group were taken distilled water, rats in the Tangshukang group were taken Tanggukang powder, western medicine control group were taken Calcium Carbonateand alpha D3. once a day for 12 weeks. Ca,P, BALP,BGP in blood and bone miner density;bone mineral contents, osseous vitodynamics, the content of Ca and P in the cremains were tested respectively. The femur was taken and detected the expression of TGF-β1imRNA , the duodenum was taken and detected expression of VDR mRNA and CaBp-D9K mRNA with situ hybridization. All data were compared with that of the positive control group and the blank control model group.Result: Tangshukang could descend blood sugar and heighten the body weight of Model Rats obviously; Meanwhile, it could descend blood alkalin phosphatase and blood calcium, phosphorus and hydroxyproline; Above all, it could increase bone calcium deposit, heighten bone density and bone power in resisting bending. adjusted the expression of VDR mRNA and CaBp-D9K mRNA with situ hybridization. Conclusion: These results suggested that diabetic rats had clearly osteopenia and osteoporosis.Tangshukang can modulate effectively the bone metabolism and the bone remodeling of DOP rats models through many ways and many links.Tangshukang has sure curative effect in treating diabetic osteoporosis, it is worth studying deeply and developing further.
