Ney Pills Experimental Study, The Glucocorticoid-induced Osteoporosis In Rats

Objective: To explore the effects of Nourishing Didney-Yin pill on bone biomechanics in male rats with osteoporosis and the mechanism.Methods: Random classify the 66 SD rats into 6 groups, 11 rats each group, all the teams except the controlled group intramuscular inject Dexamethasone at the dosage of 11mg/kg , twice a week. The treatment group intramuscular inject Sodium Chloride at the same dosage. After 8 weeks, the controlled group intramuscular inject Dexamethasone and simultaneously fed Calcium Carbonate solution; the three test groups fed Nourishing Didney-Yin pill at low, middle, high dosage, once a day, for 8 weeks. After 8 weeks take the blood sample from the femoral artery and then execute the rat, get the femoral bone and the lumbar vertebra. Centrifugate the sample and get the serum for biochemical indicator; and measure the biomechanics parameter and mineral content of the bone.Results: AKP rising, femoral bone mineral content and bone mineral density descend and the biomechanics of lumbar vertebra dropped in the model group, the Nourishing Didney-Yin pill of middle and high dosage and controlled group femoral bone mineral content and bone mineral density raised, the Nourishing Didney-Yin pill of middle and high dosage can significantly improve the lumbar vertebra biomechanics (P<0.05).Conclusion: Nourishing Didney-Yin pill can improve the bone biomechanics of SD rats with osteoporosis, and raise bone mineral content and bone mineral density of the test rats. That effect possibly depend on Didney-Yin pill's function of regulating bone metabolism, strengthening cytoactive of the bone, falling bone resorption, and increasing bone formation. This study indicate that Didney-Yin pill have therapeutial effect on ostesoporsis.
