Background: Pulmonary contusion is a common disease, and is lack of a special treatment. Without valid treatment the disease can develop to ARDS, whose mortality is 40%. Pulmonary surfactant is abnormal in the PC, which is the result of the disease, but the reason of the disease. In our study ,we try to do some work about the therapy to the PC by PS .Methods: Animal test in vivo and in vitro. First we make the PC model by our equipment, then we treat the animals with the PPS through airway. Second we study the influence of the PPS to the AM in vitro. We collect the AM from the BALF with the culture method. Whereafter ,we divide the cells into 4 group, and treat them with or without PPS , study the phagocytic function and the concentrate of the TNF-αmRNA.Result: Supplying PPS can improve the lung function, inhabit the inflammation and alleviate the lung injury. The role of the PPS the high dosage is better. The best effect is with low dose dexamethasone. PPS can inhabit the phagocytic function of the AM. PPS can inhabit the produce of the TNF-αmRNA.Conclusion: Supplying PPS can treat the pulmonary contusion. PPS can affect the phagocytic function and the secretion function of the AM.
