A Study Of Chinese Descriptive Aids Based On Marked Construction Of Tracing Relationship

Depiction is one of the important ways to describe the world by human, As for its essence, reflects expressive way of people’s cognition of situation in its world and exists in our real life experience. Previous studies have paid little attention to this issue and lack of specific discussions, so this kind of research is limited. This paper starts from the construction of depictive relationship, On the basis of previous studies and take Functional Linguistics as guidance, made Comparative Auxiliary Word and Description Auxiliary Word merge into Depictive Auxiliary Word. We regard Depictive Auxiliary Word is the typical mark and achieve the purpose of depictive expressions in Modern Chinese. On the basis of those views, we did comprehensive study on Depictive Auxiliary Word in Modern Chinese and use different methods such as mutual corroboration of comprehensive theoretical approach and specific case studies, complementarity of syntactic and semantic analysis and expression functions elaboration, combining study of static synchronic description and dynamic diachronic development. We discuss its from different angles: nature and characteristics, range and categories, depictive mechanism, related structures and evolution and development. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this paper can divided into two parts and twelve chapters.The first part include four chapters and focus on theoretical discussion on basic nature of Depictive Auxiliary Word.Depiction is a Semantic-Pragmatic category of depict grammatical meaning and pragmatic functions,The realization of depiction is the representation of grammatical meaning of sentences and the discourse pragmatic functions.State is the key factor of realization of depiction.If one expression has state of semantics and state transmission of pragmatics,its can be regarded as depictive nature.Depiction can divided into different categories from different angles.Depictive Auxiliary Word attached to the rear of“X”and constitute Depictive Construction,then achieve the state depiction of grammatical word to express one object.its nature represents functional word of grammatical level firstly,then represents relative word of semantic level,and mark word of pragmatic level.Based on its typical functional performance,it can be divided into two categories:metaphorical and realistic.Metaphorical Depictive Auxiliary Word include“Shide”(似的)、“Yiyang”(一样)、“Yiban”(一般)、“Yeshide”(也似的)、“Yang1”(样1)、“Ban”(般);and has function of reprenstation of statement.Realistic Depictive Auxiliary Word include“Zhuang”(状)、“Xiang”(相)、“Yang2”(样2)、“Mao”(貌)、“Tai”(态)、“Xing”(型)、“Shi”(式)and has function of reference of statement.These two functions represent nature of complementary and division.Compared with the typical example of the former of“Shide”(似的),the latter of“Zhuang”(状)has the characteristics of Suffix Auxiliary Word,especially“Xing”(型)and“Shi”(式)has some imbroglio between affixoid and Auxiliary Word in the dynamic continuum of“affix-affixoid-auxiliary word”.On the basis of some discussions,we also did comprehensive investigation on metaphorical and realistic depictive auxiliary word.From syntactic level,the former change those non-descriptive adjectives into descriptive adjectives,it has two statement performance:Readme and Quoted.In the Depictive constructions of“X”and“X Shide(似的)”show the parallel and corresponding state of conceptual domains and syntactic domains.The latter change non-state referentiality into state reference,it has two reference performance:self-reference and hetero-reference.Depictive constructions of“X”and“X Zhuang(状)”show the dislocation inverted state of conceptual domains and syntactic domains.The second part include eight chapters and focus on personality characteristics.It did investigations on:Separate and merge of“Shide”(似的)and“Shide”(似地)、Functional performance of“X Xing(型)”、Overlap representation of“X Yang1(样1)”and“X Yang2(样2)”、Constitution and characteristic of“V De(得)Gen(跟)Shenme(什么)Yiyang(一样)”、Comparison overlap-type depictive constructions of“XY1Y2”、Grammaticalization of“Yiban”(一般)、Solidification of“Yeshide”(也似的)、Formative motivation of“Xiang”(相).Those eight issues are all concerns non-depth-study and controversial questions.This Paper tries to choose depictive expressions of Modern Chinese as our study issue. Based on assumption of relational mark construction in Modern Chinese and put forward new subcategory of word class: Depictive Auxiliary Word. We did comprehensive and systematic investigation and induction of different aspects: research methods, range definition, nature establishment, categories division, functional mechanisms, and individual performances. We fully explore related language facts of Depictive Auxiliary Word and discover regular patterns of grammar、semantics and pragmatics on the basis of detailed description, explain some controversial questions of depictive expressions and constructions of depictive relations, put forward our Understandings and views at last.
