Generally speaking, emotional events are easy to be recalled, as the memory has been mediated by the emotional factor, which is called the emotional memory. Under the circumstances of experiment, emotional memory is defined as the process such as encoding, consolidation and retrieves which is affected by the emotion. There are two roles of mediation about that the memory is affected by the emotion. For one thing, it is the emotional enhancement effect that the emotional events are much easier to be recalled. For another, it is called by emotional impairment effect which memory is weakened by emotion. Recently, many researchers have focused on the thesis of the emotional enhancement effect and many study have emerged in large numbers. However, it have been inconsistency how arousal and valence affect the memory. To explore how emotion affect the children’s memory systematically, the research investigated the emotion how to affect the memory by the view of the retrieval strategy, encoding time and encoding method. Primary school children were selected as the sample, and the emotional pictures had been dressed and evaluated as the experimental material from CAPS sets and Internet. The three inferior studies were included in the whole research:Study1:By the means of RVSP, we explored the characteristics of children’s memory by the control of the retrieval strategy. In the condition of immediately and delayed time, intended to investigate the preference, traditional recognition, analytical recognition and non-analytical recognitions for children.Study2:By the means of SSN, the visual memory of emotional pictures was explored for children in primary school. According to the materials by handling, the emotional objects and the emotional with the neutral background were explored in the recognition task. While the means of eye tracking were added to provide the evidence of time process for the children’s emotional memory.Study3:By the means of SSN, the different encoding strategies such as associative information, divided into groups by emotion and emotional warn were examined to explore the characteristics in the phase of encoding.Based on the above studies’ results and analysis, in the present research, the main findings of this research were as below were the main conclusion drawn as follow:1. There was significantly emotional enhancement effect in the condition of immediately and delayed time, four retrieval strategies. The scores of passive emotional pictures were higher than the positive pictures and the scores of positive pictures were higher than the neutral pictures.2. The achievement was affected by the time of encoding. The achievement of traditional recognition, analytical recognition and non-analytical recognitions in delayed time was higher than in delayed time. However, the achievement in the task of preference weren’t changed between in immediately time than in delayed time.3. There was the main effect of the grade in the recognitions of pictures. The achievement in the4th and6th grade, including in the preference in immediately time and in the traditional recognition and non-analytical recognitions in delayed time, as well as both study2and study3, was higher than2the grade.4. There wasn’t the main effect of the gender. Only there was interactive role between the grade and the gender in the task of emotional object, associative information and emotional warn. The achievement of positive pictures in girl group was higher than other pictures.5. There was significantly difference among the different valence of pictures. In the task of centre recognition about the objects, the encoding time of negativity pictures was longer than other valence of pictures.6. The achievement of recognition was affected by the encoding strategies. In the task divided into groups by emotion; the achievement of neutral pictures recognized was higher than emotional pictures. Yet in associative information and emotional warn, the achievements of negative pictures recognized was higher other.
