In the past 30 years of rock art studies in our country, we have been focused on the statistical and collative works of basic informations about rock-art site; the time and nationality of rock-art; the style and value of images in Arts; the protectiing and disappearing about rock-art, but, ignored the fundamental problem:the inheriting of rock-art cultural heritage. Now, when we found that the informations about rock-art cultural heritage are spreaded only in the academic circle of a few people; before the public has not been able to clearly understand the value and significance of rock-art, a large number of rock-arts begin to be damaged or even disappeared. At this time, we have to admit " inheritance can continue the life of culture ". In order to protect and inherit the cultural heritage of rock-art, to make the study go on, must use the way of mass communication.If we want to improve the level of recognition of audiences on cultural heritage by mass communication, to raising awareness of the public about the protection of cultural heritage and the cultural diversity in the world, to establish a positive, healthy and sustainable concept of "cultural heritage" in the whole society through the influence of public opinion, we must create real informations of cultural heritage what relyed on cultural heritage resources, and make the informations to be effectively spreaded through the mass media.In this paper, combined with the history and actuality about the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art, by sorting out the evolution process of the concept of "cultural heritage information", reflecting on the research method of the mass communication of cultural heritage information, deeply explore the problems existing in the process of mass communication, put forward the corresponding strategy. This paper is divided into five parts:The first chapter is the introduction part, first, from the number of rock-art cultural heritages appeared in the list of world heritage, and the situation of rock-art research in recent years in our country, analysis the rock-art heritage research status and the bottleneck in the world, put forward that the best way to break the bottleneck is to strengthen the mass communication of cultural heritage information. Secondly, explain the three concepts of "cultural heritage", "information" and "mass communication", which related this research, and point out that the mass communication of cultural heritage information is the study of mass communication, research of this paper mainly depends on the research methods of mass communication. In the research summary, point out the particularity of the formation and development of the concept of "cultural heritage" in our country is the background of the research on "the mass communication of cultural heritage information", the existing research of Helan rock-art results in the lack of examples which colligated the research method of rock-art, cultural heritage and mass communication,The second chapter, first, by combing the process about the concept of "cultural heritage information" in thesis topic, find out the meaning and essence of "cultural heritage information", answer the question of "cultural heritage information". Secondly classify the cultural heritage informations based on the function of cultural heritage information in the mass communication. And the contents of cultural heritage information are described in detail. Through the nature and characteristics of the "information of the cultural heritage" and "cultural heritage", the relationship both contact and difference between the two is established. Thirdly, explain the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the main cultural heritage information dissemination channels. Put forward the specific ideas of the study of the mass communication of cultural heritage information.The third chapter will research into the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art. First, analyse of the special of cultural heritage as rock-art, point out that the main causes of the cultural heritage as rock-art has not clear image in the mass media is the location of cultural heritage as rock-art is not clear in the world heritage classification system. Secondly descript rock paintings of the Helan cultural heritage, descript relevant cultural heritage information content detailedly. From five aspects such as the inheritance, development, research and cultural heritage concept formation and set professional confidence, discuss the significance of the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art.Point out the special of the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art.The fourth chapter, first, study on the history from 1980s to 2009 30 years of the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art, by the methods of staging, the history of this period is divided into three stages, namely, the bud, the rise and the vigorous development, through the research found that the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art has the characteristics of discontinuity, concentration and attention to the spread of academic. Secondly, analyse the current situation of mass media utilization of the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art. By studying the dissemination of content, text and audience survey questionnaire, analyse the current situation of the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art objectively.The fifth chapter is the finishing and thinking from the research content of fourth chapter. First, through the analysis of the fourth chapter, find six major misunderstandings existing in the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art, put forward the corresponding solution. Secondly, point out the urgency and necessity of the research about the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art. Discuss the value and significance of the research in this paper.This paper puts the perspective of research on the problems about mass communication of cultural heritage information of rock-art. Based on the theory of mass communication and cultural heritage, set up the framework and ideas of research about the mass communication of cultural heritage information preliminarily, and on this basis, combined with historical research, text analysis, content analysis, questionnaire survey and other mass communication research methods, analyse and research the mode, content, characteristics, significance of the mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art. Discovered the reason that why he mass communication of cultural heritage information of the Helan rock-art has poor effect so long time, and why the public awareness about it is low, finally, put forward the concrete solution. The significance of this paper lies in that hope to be able to attract more scholars focus on the research about the mass communication of cultural heritage information of Helan rock-art or any rock-art in other areas of China, to promote the heritage protection and research of cultural heritage as rock-art.
