Study On A New Urbanization Way Of Wuhan Megalopolis In The View Of Inter-city Integration

The compendium of the National "Eleventh Five-Year" Plan clearly states:"The urban agglomeration should be taken as the main pattern for promoting urbanization;......the area possessing the conditions of developing the urban agglomeration must strengthen the overall planning, take megalopolises and big cities as the leader to exert the role of central cities and form a new urban agglomeration with less land used, more employment, strong ability of concentrating more elements and rational population distribution." This is the important strategic decision of the party and the state in promoting the process of urbanization and regional development. Clearly, the construction and development of Wuhan city circle precisely fit this important decision. As the particularity of the inter-city relevant function of the urban agglomerations, in the development process of urbanization of Wuhan city circle, we must adopt a study perspective different from studying the urbanization development of a single city and consider the new urban-oriented development path from the perspective of the city colony. This article seeks to reveal the space evolution and industrial distribution law of the urbanization development of the Wuhan city circle from the vision of the inter-city integration, thus provides scientific decision-making foundation for promoting the harmony of the urbanization process of the Wuhan city circle.The full-text is divided into seven chapters:ChapterⅠis "Introduction", which has mainly expounded the thesis writing background, basis of selecting this topic, research purpose and significance, research ideas and methods, summarized relevant research achievements of urban agglomeration and urbanization at home and abroad, and clearly pointed out its innovations on the aspects such as study perspective, research content, objects and methods.ChapterⅡis "The related concept and theoretical basis", which has firstly explained the core concepts such as inter-city integration, urban agglomeration and city circle, the new urbanization, and then carded carefully the theoretical basis in detail such as the general rules of the urbanization process, regional economics, urban geography and urban management in order to make the discussion have a solid theoretical basis.Chapter III is "the development status and inspiration of domestic and foreign regional urban agglomeration", which has respectively analyzed the development status of the five major world recognized urban agglomerations of the Northeast Atlantic coast urban agglomeration of America, the North American Five Great Lakes urban agglomeration, the Pacific coast urban agglomeration of Japan, the European northwestern urban agglomeration and the London urban agglomeration of Britain, and China’s three major urban agglomerations of the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta and Jingjinji(Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang) and summed up their features. Finally, according to the development inspiration of regional urban agglomerations at home and abroad, this chapter has pointed out the significance that the dynamic planning, organization and coordination and macro control will produce for the urbanization of Wuhan city circle.Chapter IV has introduced the historical evolution and actuality of Wuhan city circle and diagnosed the problems in the process of its urbanization.Chapter V is "The driving mechanism and regulation of inter-city integration in the urbanization process of Wuhan city circle". Based on the comparative analysis of the level and difference of urbanization of various cities of Wuhan city circle, this chapter has extracted the dynamic factors and the driving force system of the inter-city integration in its urbanization process, and expounded its dynamic function mechanism and regulation mechanismChapter VI is "The quantitative analysis of space law on the inter-city integration in the urbanization process of Wuhan city circle". This chapter mainly applies some mathematical models such as fractal theory, spatial autocorrelation analysis model and gravity model to have conducted a quantitative analysis on the actuality characteristics, change trends and the law of spatial structure in the urbanization process of Wuhan city circle, and also conducted a scientific forecast on the city grade system of Wuhan city circle. Chapter VII is "The industrial choice in the urbanization process of Wuhan city circle". Firstly, based on the classical theory of J H VonThunen, this chapter applies the land’s industrial use conversion model to have depicted the J H VonThunen structure of Wuhan city circle. Then applies the fuzzy clustering and Nelso model to have measured the urbanization positioning and major industrial positioning of various cities of Wuhan city circle.Chapter VIII is "The strategic idea on the development of the new urban-oriented urbanization of Wuhan city circle". This chapter has explored respectively the multi-integrated development strategies in the new urban-oriented urbanization process of Wuhan city circle from these aspects such as the policy system innovation, space symbiotic integration, industrial co-ordination division of labor, infrastructure construction and land comprehensive utilization.
