The Loess Hilly Region is a complex combination of ecological, economic and socialsystem. Ecological balance provides living environment for human beings, economicdevelopment provides support to the human society, and social progress is the ultimate goalof human development. The coordinate development of ecology, economy and society is thecore problem of regional sustainable development, and it is not only important to theimprovement of the human living environment, the sustainable development of economy andthe comprehensive progress of society, but also provides the necessary basis for the analysisof dynamic evolution of ecological, economic and social complex system (EES system),reveals the inherent mechanism of the coordinate development of the three, and explores thecoordinate development path of complex systems. However, in the process of economic andsocial development in terms of urbanization, industrialization and modernization in ourcountry, there are a series of ecological, economic and social problems, especially in the loesshilly region where the ecosystem is fragile. Therefore, it is extremely important to study howto closely combine the ecological construction with the economic and social development soas to realize the coordinate development of regional ecology, economy and society throughthe ecological restoration.Based on the above research background and the practical needs, the thesis takes thecoordinate development of ecology, economy and society as the research content. By usingthe theory of sustainable development, the theory of coordinate development and the theory ofsystem, and with the aid of statistical data and survey data as well as DPSIR (Driving force,Pressure, State, Impact, Response) conceptual framework, and also by using the descriptivemethod of statistics, the coordinate development model of fuzzy subordinate degree andcoefficient of variation, the grey system prediction model as well as the principal componentanalysis, this thesis constructs DPSIR coordinate development evaluation index system ofEES system, and the analytical framework of coordinate development with the core contentsincluding the static, dynamic, chronological and spatial pattern of the ecology, economy andsociety in the evaluation of ecological restoration process. The thesis then extracts the mainfactors affecting the coordinate development by using the method of analyzing main components. It also provides the strategies and suggestions feasible for regional coordinatedevelopment of EES system.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)DPSIR coordinate development index system of EES system is constructed.On the basis of statistical analysis of the evaluation index system of ecological,economic and social coordinate development put forward by the domestic scholars in the1990s, by taking the existing relevant index and the actual situation of the study area andresearch priorities into consideration, in accordance with DPSIR framework model for indexconstruction, this thesis constructs the evaluation index system of the coordinate developmentin different administrative units of counties and cities from the ecological, economic andsocial systems. With the "drive" of the social and economic development, human beings’demand for energy has increased. The energy exploitation puts stress on composite system ofecology, economy and society, thus has changed the "state” of ecological environment,economic output and social structure, and had "effects” on the internal and external systemsof ecological environment, economic quality and people’s welfare. Through theimplementation of the policy of the Grain for Green Project and the transformation ofeconomic development mode,people try to adjust the ecological environment, economicpolicy and social system, and make "response" to these changes in order to reduce pressure onthe environment, maintain the harmonious and unified of the ecological, economic and socialsystem. The EES system DPSIR index includes ecological environment state, ecologicalenvironment problems, ecological measures, economic aggregate, economic quality,economic structure, population structure, social structure, community development, people’sliving and etc.(32items of10categories in total).(2)The chronological analysis is conducted through the application of dynamicprediction coordinate development evaluation model of fuzzy subordinate degree and greysystemThis thesis takes the Loess Hilly Region of Zhidan County as the object of empiricalstudy on the basis of the statistical description of the ecological restoration influence on thestudy of ecology, economy and society according to the DPSIR coordinate development ofindex system, chronological static and dynamic evaluation of the coordinate development ofEES system from1997to2011as well as the dynamic grey system prediction of coordinate development degree from2011to2015. Through the analysis of the composite index of EESsystem, this thesis finds that on the whole the ecological index shows an increasing trend. Theminimum value is0.135in1998while the highest value is0.719in2010, significantly higherthan the average value of0.501of the past14years; there is a great difference in theeconomic index as the average is0.386. As a whole, the development can be divided into twostages: rapid economic development in1997-2005and stable economic development in2006-2010; overall, social index goes upward. Based on the analysis of the index as well asthe analysis of the coordinate degree, development degree and coordinate development degreeof the ecological-economic system, the ecological-social system, and the economic-socialsystem, the research shows that there doesn’t exist synchronous development between eachtwo of the systems, mostly in the serious unbalanced state. In a certain sense, ecology,economy, and society are a compound unity, and they depend on each other and areindispensable to each other. Ignoring any subsystem from the analysis of any single factorwill causes the evaluation of the coordinate development level of EES system to be neitherobjective nor scientific. Through further analysis and evaluation of comprehensive coordinatedevelopment of EES system, this thesis comes to the conclusion that the social, economic andecological environments of Zhidan county has been greatly improved. As time goes on, theindex of the three shows different degrees in growth, and with the progress of the society, theimprovement of the economy and the implementation of ecological protection measures, thedevelopment trend of EES system becomes more coordinate. The analysis and predictionshow that in the future Zhidan County should consolidate the existing ecological constructionachievement, and speed up its economic and social development so as to realize thecoordinate development of EES system.(3)The chronological and spatial analysis is conducted by the application of thecoordinate development evaluation model of variable coefficient and Arcgis technologyThis thesis takes the loess hilly area of Yulin city as municipal research object.According to DPSIR coordinate development of index system, this thesis conducts achronological and spatial analysis of the coordinate development of EES system in1997-2011in12counties of Yulin City. The chronological analysis throughout the15years leads to theresult that EES index shows a rising trend with different development in different periods anddifferent positions, which can be divided into three stages: ecological dominance(1999-2009), the economic development dominant position (1997-1998), and socialprogress dominance (2010-2011). Coordinate development of EES system tends to turn for better, but the overall level remains to be improved. The development types can also bedivided into three stages: recession disorders (1997-2006), sub-coordinate development(2007-2008), and coordinate development (2009-2011). From the analysis of spatialpattern of coordinated development of regional EES system, the result shows the difference issignificant with the form of three grade plates of the heartland, the north and the south as wellas the form of the decentralization-to-centralization and the core-to-edge spatial pattern..(4) The main control factors of the coordinate development of EES system areextracted by using the method of analyzing main components, and through the analysis, anumber of strategies and suggestions are put forward in terms of the adjustment of theindustrial structure, speed up the ecological construction, strengthen the integration of theecological agriculture, ecological industry, the construction of ecological civilization, thedevelopment of cultural industry and so on.
