Research On Evaluation Of Urbanization Quality Of Wuhan Urban Agglomerations

Urban agglomeration is the urban spatial organization form when the urbanization developed into the mature stage as the Yangtze river delta, pearl river delta, and beijing-tianjin-hebei urban agglomeration have become the core regions to support China’s economic. Urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze river gradually become another growth pole of China’s regional economic development in recent years. Wuhan Urban Agglomerations is one of the important urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze river, has entered a rapid development of urbanization. In the process of promoting economic growth, social development and urban construction land expansion, regional relationship coordination, the industrial development, environment and transportation development are faced with many problems. Therefore, urbanization in Wuhan Urban Agglomerations should not only pay close attention to the number development of population, economy and space, but more important is to guide and control the quality of urbanization.The main content of this paper includes two parts of theoretical and empirical research. In the part of theoretical research, this paper discusses the connotation of the quality of urbanization, combing the relevant research on the basic theory of the quality of urbanization, and summarizes the study progress at home and abroad. Wuhan Urban Agglomerations is the research object in the part of empirical research. This paper paper analyzes the characteristics of urban development based on statistical data, build the evaluation index system from two dimensions of "comprehensive strength" and "synergy degree", selects the evaluation model, evaluates the quality of urbanization from two scale of the county and urban agglomeration, makes regional hierarchy on the quality of urbanization and analyzes hierarchy characteristics. On this basis, this paper summarizes the influence factors and mechanism of urbanization quality and put forward the corresponding optimization strategy.The paper has8chapters, the contents of each chapter is briefly generalized as followed:The first chapter mainly introduces the research background, purpose, significance, main contents and methods.The second chapter is the theoretical review. The related concept of urbanization is analyzed and the connotation of the quality of urbanization is redefined. The related research at home and abroad is summarized and combed to provide theoretical support for the thesis.The third chapter is the analysis of present situation of Wuhan Urban Agglomerations. The characteristics of urbanization development are summarized by retrospection of the process of urbanization development since2002and comparative analysis between urban agglomerations in the middle reach of Yangtze river and the eastern.The fourth chapter is the construction of urbanization quality evaluation model of Wuhan Urban Agglomerations. The evaluation index system is selected from the dimensions of the comprehensive strength (including economic, social, environment, urban function) and synergy degree between elements, urban and rural, areas. And then the evaluation model is constructed.The fifth chapter is urbanization quality evaluation of Wuhan Urban Agglomerations. In the county scale the comprehensive strength and synergy degree are measured, regional division of urbanization quality is made by using cluster analysis method and characteristics and influence factors of each level are analyzed. In the urban agglomeration scale the evaluation of regional comparison is made in accordance with the relevant standards.The sixth chapter is the problem analysis influencing urbanization quality of Wuhan Urban Agglomerations. The important problems of urbanization quality are summarized based on results of the characteristic analysis and quality evaluation.The seventh chapter is the optimization strategy of urbanization quality of Wuhan Urban Agglomerations. Countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to optimize urbanization quality of Wuhan Urban Agglomerations based on the conclusion of analysis of the problems.The eighth chapter is the conclusion. The research conclusion and innovation views are summarized and direction and expectation of further study is brought forward.
