As the world economy changes from industrial economy to knowledge-based economy, knowledge becomes the primary source to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage, and the key factor of economic success. The increasing complexity of knowledge process force more and more organizations to seek external knowledge and skills to get creativity, innovation and competition advantages to make up for their lack of ability. Therefore, school-enterprise cooperative innovation has become an important organization pattern of technological innovation and development. But there are many problems in school-enterprise cooperative innovation, one of them is relationship risk, as an incentive of relationship risk, trust is an important factor that cannot be ignored. In the knowledge economy era, with the strengthening of intellectual property protection awareness and applying of various knowledge exchange platforms such as electronic innovation platform, collaborative innovation platform, school-enterprise cooperation trust is facing a severe test, the role of trust in the school-enterprise cooperative innovation is further highlighted. As the premise and foundation of school-enterprise cooperative innovation, Trust mechanism is a soft governance mechanisms that can compensate for the lack of formal management control mechanisms, it has a very important significance in the school-enterprise innovation process, so the study of effect of school-enterprise cooperative trust on enterprise innovation performance has become an important issue in business practice.Relevance of trust and performance has been proved in a large number of research documents, however, there are still some problems to explore the function mechanism of trust and enterprise innovation performance. From the perspective of single dimension of trust, scholars study the trust from one antecedents or intermediary, the manipulated variable, but the analysis of multi-dimensional trust on innovation performance is missed. In addition, the analysis of the mediating role of knowledge management capability in the process of trust acting on innovation performance is limited. Therefore, following the logic that “Trust-Knowledge Management capability- enterprise innovation performance”, and based on social exchange theory, industrial organization theory and corporate knowledge-based theory, from the perspective of enterprise, this paper analyzes the mechanism of the effect of the different kind of trust on enterprise innovation performance and the mediating roles of knowledge management capabilities respectively. The model and the assumption have been proved through data collection and statistical analysis.Compared with existing research, the main research content and innovation of this paper are as follows:(1) This paper build process mechanism of trust establishing in school-enterprise cooperative innovation from the perspective of calculus-based trust, cognition-based trust, identification-based trust, and computer mechanism with the method of evolutionary game theory. This study takes trust in school-enterprise cooperative innovation as research focus, analyze the trust establishing in school-enterprise cooperative innovation, including process mechanism and computer mechanism. Based on Barney & Hansen three hierarchy theory on trust, build a three hierarchy theory on trust in school-enterprise cooperative innovation: stage of Calculus-based Trust, the stage of Cognition-Based Trust and phase of Identification-based Trust. At the stage of Calculus-based Trust, the key to build trust is to establish expected modest achievable goals between school and enterprise, through joint efforts to achieve the expected goals of cooperation, and to increase positive expectations of future school-enterprise cooperative relations; at the stage of cognitive-based trust, expectations of cooperative behavior and identity of knowledge deepen cooperation between school and enterprise, strengthen cooperation willingness; at the stage of Identification-based Trust, School and enterprise as a whole to participate in cooperative innovation activities, show complete trust to the other side, has been internalized each other’s needs, school-enterprise cooperation between the two sides reach a stable equilibrium, the trust reach its highest point. Construct of computer mechanism uses evolutionary game theory to analysis the process of trust establishing in school-enterprise cooperative innovation, the trust establishment in school-enterprise cooperative innovation is a final result of game behavior in which is school and enterprise effect and interact among strategy selection of trust and distrust, the interaction is a kind of game equilibrium. The research shows that final state of the game of trust establishment in school-enterprise cooperative innovation is(trust, trust) and(distrust, mistrust). The adopt of computer mechanism supplements existing theory in the trust establishing, provides new ideas for later study.(2) This article deepen the different effect of dimensions of trust(calculus-based trust, cognition-based trust, identification-based trust) on enterprise innovation performance under the background of school- enterprise cooperation. What kind of impact of different dimensions of trust will have on enterprise innovation performance is very important for the enterprise to formulate cooperative innovation strategy, but current discussion on this issue are not very clear, Lewicki & Bunker gave a definition of calculus-based trust, cognition-based trust and identification-based trust, but did not give a measure of each dimension, Nguyen analyzed the effect of trust dimensions on cooperation, but did not analyze the impact on the performance. Many research on trust in cooperative innovation is from the recipient’s point of view, and take trust as a mediating variable or adjustable variables. In order to more clearly analyze effect of different trust dimensions of trust on enterprise innovation performance, based on the conceptual structure of Lewicki & Bunker, the dissertation from perspective of enterprise, amend current scales, divide trust into calculus-based trust, cognition-based trust and identification-based trust, choose enterprises which has frequent cooperative innovation with school as respondents, empirically analysis the effect and degree of three dimension trust on enterprise innovation performance. Analysis find that the calculus-based trust, cognition-based trust and identification-based trust all have a significant positive impact on the enterprise innovation performance. In addition, studies have shown that the degree of the impact of three dimensional trust on enterprise innovation performance has differences, path coefficients of cognitive-based trust on innovation performance is greater than that of identification-based trust and calculus-based trust, which help us to thoroughly understand the important role of trust in school-enterprise cooperative innovation. The results validate the importance of cognitive-based trust, provide empirical support for relationship between different dimensions of trust and cooperative innovation performance. Validation of trust and knowledge management capability is an important complement to the content empirical research of knowledge management.(3) The dissertation examine the mediating effect of knowledge management capability between school-enterprise cooperative trust and enterprise innovation performance. This study construct the research approach as "trust- knowledge management capability-enterprise innovation performance," and divide knowledge management capabilities into knowledge acquisition capabilities, knowledge sharing capabilities, knowledge application capabilities, refined explore its intermediary role. Empirical results show that: knowledge acquisition capabilities partially mediates calculus-based trust and management innovation performance, the positive effect of cognitive-based trust on technological innovation performance, management innovation performance and knowledge innovation performance, the positive effect of identification-based trust on technological innovation performance, management innovation performance and knowledge innovation performance; knowledge sharing capabilities partially mediates the positive effect of cognitive-based trust on technological innovation performance, and knowledge innovation performance, positive effect of odentification-based trust on technological innovation performance, and knowledge innovation performance; knowledge application capabilities partially mediates the positive effect of cognitive-based trust and identification-based trust on technological innovation performance, management innovation performance and knowledge innovation performance.
