A novel method has been developed for the synthesis of monomer casting polyamide 6 (PA6)/polystyrene (PS)/montmorillonite (MMT) ternary blends based on styrene and CL via successive in situ (free radical polymerization and anionic ring-opening polymerization) polymerization. Then, the MCPA6/PS/MMT ternary blends were compatibilized via in situ compatibilization and in situ polymerization technologies. Moreover, the macromolecular activator P(St-co-TMI) via in situ polymerization was introduced for the synthesis of graft copolymer of PS-g-PA6 as well. The reversed-phase micelles of PS-g-PA6 were synthesis using different sensibility of PA6 and PS to temperature. Various characterization methods, such as SEM,TEM,FTIR,XRD,DSC,GPC were carried out to investigate the morphological structure, crystallization and thermal properties, and so on. The main results are as follows:1) MCPA6/PS/MMT ternary composites were prepared via successive in situ polymerization. The effects of Na+-MMT and OMMT on the morphologies and properties of PA6/PS ternary composites have been studied by different characterization technologies.2) MCPA6/PS/MMT ternary composites were compatibilized by in situ polymerization and in situ compatibilization technologies. The effects of MMT on the morphologies and crystallization behavior of compatilized ternary composites were investigated. The dispersed state of MMT in the ternary composites was studied.3) MCPA6/PS/GO ternary composites were prepared by in situ polymerization. The morphologies, properties and migration of GO in composites were studied by change the procedure of raw materials added.4) PA6 magnetic microspheres were prepared by phase reversal behavior of PA6/PS blends in the process of in situ polymerization. The size distribution, magnetic saturation strength, active group and thermal stability were studied by various characterization technologies.5) The PS-g-PA6 graft copolymers were prepared via CL polymerizing on to the backbone of macromolecular activator P(St-co-TMI). The effects of different molecular weight of P(St-co-TMI) and different mass ratio of PA6/PS to the morphologies and properties of PS-g-PA6 were investigated.6) PS-g-PA6 reverse micelles were synthesized by different sensibility to temperature of PA6 and PS in dimethyl acetylamide solvent. The preparation methods and application area of PA6 micelles were broaden.
