With the shortage of resources and environment pollution. the maintarget of tribology involves not only antiwear and friction-reduction, butalso entironment-protection and elevation of human being's standard ofliving. Compared with the traditional oil-base lubricant, water-basedlubricant has the nonflammability, less pollution, pefect coolingperformance, easy washing, less corrosion and other advantages. Innearly 20 years, water-based lubricant has won used widely, especially inthe hydraulic fluid and metal processing industry. Therefore, thedevelopment environment friendly water-based lube and expand the useof this kind lube are an important task for studying and solving lubricantindustry. In this dissertation, series of phosphorous-containing additives, including phosphoric acid amide, ammonium phosphate salt andthiophosphate ammonium, were synthesized by new route. Thetribological properties, the relationship between molecular structure andtribological behaviors of these derivatives as additives inPolyoxyethylene Glycol or water were evaluated using two four-ball machines and the morphology and component of tribofilms wereinvestigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and the X-rayphotoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) , X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES) spectroscopy. the lubricating mechanism of P-containingadditives in PEG or Water have been preliminarily studied.1. All of the synthesized compounds are novel derivatives ofphosphorus-containing of water-based lubricating additives. Among thesynthetic additives, the target product are all high purity except GOP andGOPS, which were mixed by monoesters and polyester. All of them werethe ideal goal product, and therefore can be used as lubricant additives inwater.2. The tribological properties test results show that the phosphoricacid amide additives have better anti-wear and friction reducingproperties than the traditional water-based additive T308B inPolyoxyethylene Glycol, and the DMDP with shorter length alkyl chain ismuch better than others. XANES surface analysis results indicate thattribofilms are mainly composed of absorbed layer and chemical reactedlayer, in which chemical reacted layer the tribofilms are composed ofphosphate and polyphosphate.3. The new water-based additive carboxylic phosphate ester weresynthesized by introducing the phosphorus or sulfur to the carboxylic acid. The tribological properties in water-based lubricant were tested. The results show that the additives of GOP,MSP,GOPS and MSPS havebetter anti-wear and friction reducing properties and the lubricatingmechanism have been preliminarily studied by XPS.
