With the continuous improvement of mechanized mining, coal dust hazard become increasingly prominent. It is not only harmful to the health of operating personnel for pneumoconiosis, but also leads to dust explosion which causing a major coal mine disasters. This paper analyzes the generation, distribution and migration rule of dust at driving face, and a new fully mechanized face dust control methods using air curtain to collect dust and using windsocks to draw out dust is put forward according to the present situation of research and application on controling of coal-dust and air curtain technology home and abroad. This paper also carries out a creative design to form a air curtain with a jet machine to form the dust collection and control system. The research demonstrate the control effect of dust and respirable dust with air curtain which has an obviously effect on reducing the dust concentration at driving face, in particular on reducing the diffusion of respirable dust to the driver, by means of theoretical analys, building mathematical modeling of gas-solid two-phase flow and airflow field, numerical simulation, testing in laboratory, field testing and practical application in the pit and other means. And it demonstrates the mechanism of this device's dust control and collection, which could provide theoretical basis for practical application, according to the simulation of gas-solid two-phase flow as well as dust collection devices, pressure-in and draw-out airflow. The device is proved more reasonable jet device, for the space occupied by up to minimum, as long as the proper positioning of the body does not affect the operation of three-dimensional movement and drivers, due to U-jet and jet box forming one cavity. Meanwhile, this device may be suitable for different sections of the fully mechanized face dust control with triangular jet box, which possesses not only small resistance, but also multi-level, multi-stage regulator and the ability to control the direction and wind speed jet size. The study of great practical significance and extensive application value with great economic and social benefits of security, during nowadays people's awareness of occupational safety and labor protection are increasing.
