Delamination is a kind of common damage in composite laminated structures. The present of delaminations and their further growth can reduce stiffness and strength of composite laminated structures. It has important value both on theory and practical application to study mechanism of delaminations, loading characteristics of delaminated structures and improvement on structural performance against delamination. The emphasis of this paper is to establish the buckling model of composite laminated structures with built-in delaminations. The three-dimensional analytic model on laminated piezoelectric shells is also studied. The main achievements are summarized as follows:Firstly, buckling models for beams and cylindrical shells with arbitrary penetrative delaminations are established based on the first and higher-order shear deformation theory. The closed-form solutions are obtained by using the state-space scheme.Secondly, based on Mindlin's first-order shearing theory, buckling models for plates and shells with built-in rectangle delaminations are established by using strip transfer function method and mixed variables strip transfer function method, respectively.Thirdly, buckling model for plates with built-in circular or elliptic delaminations is established by employing Rayleigh-Ritz method. By selecting polynomial displacement function, buckling analyses for isotropic, orthotropic and angle plying laminated plates with built-in symmetric delamination are made. Finally, transfer function method is adopted to three-dimensional stress analysis of laminated piezoelectric cylindrical shell. The sensing and actuating effects of three-layered piezoelectric cylindrical shell are presented.
