Single Screw Extrusion is one of the most important technologies in polymer processing. Polymer properties, morphology,processing condition, and processing equipment are the key links which interplayed in polymer extruding process. Through novel experimental method and advanced measuring technology, it is possible to obtain the general outlook on the relationship among them,to get the important insight into the mechanism of polymer extrusive processing from macroscopic level to microscopic level,to improve polymer material systems,and to optimize operating parameters.Relying on both dynamic and static analysis methods,both microstructure and macrostructure analysis methods,both on-line and off-line analysis methods,as well as both along-line sampling and die sampling techniques,the author of this thesis studied and developed an on-line microscopic system,the on-line rheometers and the on-line samplers which are used in single screw extruding process for the first time. Based on the analyses of a plenty of experimental results, the thesis mainly discussed following several questions: solid-bed break-up phenomenon on macroscopic scale,melting and deforming mechanism of a solid particle on small particle scale,and polymer morphology on microscopic scale. The main conclusions of the thesis are:1. Successfully developed the on-line microscopic system,the on-line rheometers,and the along-line samplers in single screw extrusive process,which are used for the research work of this thesis. 2.Through solid-bed maximum shearing stress calculation and energy equilibrium analysis, offered single-point broken and multi-points criterion,proposed the theory of single-point broken and multi-points broken solid -bed in extrusive process,and established relevant physical models and mathematic models.The calculated results have been compared with the experimental ones.
