Based on the reference summary on the field of LDPE/EPDM foam, the influence of cell diameter distribution on the mechanics property of the foam was first studied, and the foam sub-cluster scale model was first found in this paper. The sub-cluster scale theory on the cell size distribution was put forward by the sub-cluster statistics in order to reveal the internal relationship between the cell microcosmic structure and macroscopic mechanics property of foam.In this paper, the linear relationships were predicted theoretically that tensile strength ,tensibility and re-spring degree are affected by the cell size distribution character. lnR1 indicated the energy the foam needed when the sample was elongated, so it should has the linear relationship with the foam tensibility. lnR1 · R2 indicated the energy the foam needed when the foam get some cell size distribution, so it should has the linear relationship between lnR1 · lnR2 and cell density P. lnR2/R1 indicated the energy the foam needed when the sample re-spring after being compressed, so it should has the linear relationship between lnR2/R1 and foam re-spring degree e.In this paper, the five concept: cell shape, cell size(Φ ),cell density(P),hole degree(E) and area of cell wall(ζ ) and the four cub-cluster parameter R1, R2, R2· R1, R2/R1 were also put forward to express the cell microscopic character. They provided the guarantee in concept to found the relationship between cell microscopic structure and the foam macroscopic mechanic property. Meanwhile the foundation of the foam sub-cluster scale theory provided the theoretical basis to combine the foam microscopic structure with property. Based on a lot of experiments, it shows the distinct error between classical theory curve which express the relation of cell diameter, cell density and foam tensile strength(σ ), tensibility (1) tensile product (W) and re-spring degree (e) and experiment curve. It also can't explain the relation of hole degree (E), area of cell wall( ζ ) with above four mechanics parameter. But the sub-cluster scale theory was demonstrated successfully to explain the relation of cell structure and foam mechanics property on different mold temperature, mold pressure, mold period and different chemical blowing agent ,blowing activator content. In the sub-cluster scale theory, R1 indicated the possibility which the hole skip the middle size hole to become a big cell, it would make striking influence on the tensibility(l); R2· R1 indicated the well-distribution degree of cell size, it would make the notable influence on the cell density P; R2/R1 indicated the...
