The Application Foreground Of Land Use/Transportation Models Based On Urban Development

Land use/ transportation model is a Geometrics tool which was oriented from western countries in the 1950s.It's based on the abstract of urban Geographic information systems to illustrate the urban space phenomenon and procedure. It's a powerful tool to understand, simulate and forecast the urban space phenomenon and manage the urban system, which can provide technical support to urban policy execution and urban planning set up and estimation. Currently, our country's forecast on urban space scale can not meet the requirement of a scientific and rational development of urban planning only by statistic data, designing experience and official will.In order to meet the requirement of quantitative Methods in urban planning area, this article aims to introduce the method and achievement of land use/ transportation model into urban planning development research and establish the related data evaluation system to explore new ideas for urban planning development.Owing to the objects for study are from different areas, this article defined the research methods as comprehensive analysis, comparison, combining qualitative and quantitative methods for further study and analysis of related area and data.Based on a overall and detailed research of the existed land use/ transportation model from the function, character, structure and input (output) data, this article will discuss the prospect of land use/ transportation model applied in the urban planning area from three aspects: Firstly, in terms of the character and application scope of different land use/ transportation model, combined with the current urban development research of our country, to choose the appropriate land use/ transportation model for specific urban development; Secondly, based on the character of different component of land use/ transportation model to apply the results particularly to our country's urban planning design as a solid theoretical basis in practice. Thirdly, to establish a result evaluation system of land use/ transportation model with the current planning mechanism of our country, which act as the bridge between the land use/ transportation model area and urban planning area, in order that the achievement of land use/ transportation model can be fully applied to our urban planning design and research.By the analysis and demonstration above, the conclusion of this article is: the land use/ transportation model has experienced nearly 60 years development, but it still has some limitations to urban development. To make a more accurate definition and forecast on urban development is the main objective for land use/ transportation model in the future. For our country, we should combine the urban planning with the scientific Quantitative Methods of land use/ transportation model, in order to make these 2 subjects more integrated and to absorb more scientific and effective tools applying in urban planning development. Eventually, leading the subject of urban planning to a rational development future.
